White Goose Down, Feather and Feather/Down Blends, Duvet & Pillow Cleaning
Washing Instructions
-
Most better quality duvets can be washed, even though the manufacturers label states Dryclean or Drycleaning Recommended.
-
Wash in warm water and mild soap but do not use detergent. Use "Woolite", "Ivory Snow" or similar soap without bleaches and whiteners. Bear in mind that most home washing machines cannot accommodate a Queen or King size duvet quilt.
-
Rinse three or four times to remove all soap residue, then gently squeeze out excess water. The removal of all soap residue is very important in order for your duvet or pillow to loft properly after laundering.
-
Dry in an extra capacity or commercial dryer, on low or medium heat.
-
Dry thoroughly. Dampness can lead to mildew which will destroy your duvet or pillow. The drying process for a large duvet can take several hours. Periodically remove the item from the dryer, shake to redistribute the fill.
-
After thoroughly drying in an extra capacity or commercial dryer, you may wish to hang your divet or pillow outside to freshen in the air. Choose a dry day and avoid direct sunlight.
-
Silk filled and Wool filled duvets must be drycleaned.
