continuing event. Through the generous support of our customers and suppliers, we have been
able to donate over $75,000 to local charities since inception!! The charities needed those funds
and as a result, we plan to go forward with the program, in support of local charities. There may
be some modifications to the program but our original intent to donate funds to local charities

Women In Need

For the month of May, Heirloom Linens will be collecting good quality, clean, used bedding for the New Start
program at Women In Need. Drop off your donation at Heirloom Linens and we will ensure the items are
delivered to the Women In Need.
We had a very successful fundraiser and were delighted to present a donation of $2,050 to Women In Need,
along with many boxes of slightly used bedding items. Many thanks to our customers, for their support of

Prostate cancer has likely touched your life, or the lives of men you know.The Prostate Centre provides
advice,education and support for men and families on the Vancouver Islandand the Gulf Islands
who are dealing with prostate cancer or other prostate health issues, as well as sponsoring local research
projects related to prostate cancer treatment and care.
The Prostate Centre was delighted to receive our cheque for $2,246 along with significant awareness for

October 2015 Charity
During October, 100% net proceeds from the Charity Item of the Month will be donated to the Broadmead
Care Overhead Lift Campaign which will help provide WWII and Korean War veterans and seniors the best in
care. Overhead lifts make transferring more comfortable, dignified and safe for residents while preventing
staff injuries. Prisoner of War survivor of the atomic bomb in Nagasaki, Rudi Hoenson will match our gift,
and all donations, up to $200,000.
Heirloom Linens presented Broadmead Lodge with a cheque for $2,500. Rudi Hoenson's generous offer to
match it, brings the total to $5,000. It almost covers the $5,300 for a single lift unit.
November 2015 Charity
CFAX Santas Anonymous Society is one of Greater Victoria’s longest running children’s charities, working
diligently to serve families with children in need…no matter what the need. Their goals are accomplished
through the funding, operation, and delivery of their Christmas Hamper and Special Grants programs, and
supported by a caring and devoted volunteer base.
Heirloom Linens presented Santas Anonymous with a cheque for $2,350. It was presented during the Miracle
on Broad Street, during the hour Thrifty Foods matched our donation for a total contribution of $4,700!
December 2015 Charity
Our Place is an inner-city community centre serving Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable: working poor,
impoverished elderly, mentally and physically challenged, addicted and the homeless. Individuals and
businesses provide the majority of financial support for our programs and services. Our Place serves
over 1,200 meals per day, and provides hot showers, free clothing, counseling and outreach services,
plus 45 transitional housing units. Most importantly, they provide a sense of hope and belonging to our
neighbours in need.
We made a cheque presentation to our place in the amount of $1,725. They were REALLY delighted with our

1Up, Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre, provides practical support, opportunities for growth
and a sense of hope for one-parent families across Greater Victoria. Guided by skilled and
committed staff and trained volunteers, they offer important services to create foundations for personal
and community growth in a welcoming and non-judgmental environment. The work they do there transforms
lives creating stronger families and healthier children. It provides hope and the promise of a brighter
future for parents and children, not just today, but well into tomorrow creating a stronger and more vibrant
community in the process.

They believe that everyone should have a place to call home.
The Greater Victoria Housing Society (GVHS) is dedicated to providing quality, affordable rental housing
to low-income seniors, families and people with disabilities. As a community leader in affordable housing,
GVHS responds with care to the complex issues presented by individuals and families with a diverse range
of needs, and offers homes that support the well-being and independence of every tenant.
They believe that housing is essential to a person’s well-being and that everyone has the right to affordable,
safe and adequate housing. We imagine a community that is healthy, vibrant, economically and
environmentally sustainable, and prosperous – a community where everyone feels at home, where everyone
has a home.
We presented the Greater Victoria Housing Society, with a cheque for $2,225. They were as happy to receive
it as we were to give it.
March 2016 Charity
The Victoria Child Abuse Prevention & Counselling Centre (VCAPCC) serves more than 200 children and
families every year. They offer support to the child or children who were abused and all family members
affected by the abuse. VCAPCC staff work with families, schools, police and professionals in family services,
child protection and community living services to ensure a coordinated,holistic approach to supporting
children and families.
The Victoria Child Abuse Prevention & Counselling Centre (VCAPCC) was presented with a cheque $3,720.
They advised of a funding shortfall for 100 children annually and this will resolve around 30 of them. Nice to
hear the benefits.
April 2016 Charity
The Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson's Centre Society is a vibrant and welcoming non-profit society
whose purpose is to strengthen clients', families' and communities' ability to manage the physical,
psychological and social effects of Parkinson's and epilepsy.
Parkinson's and epilepsy are unrelated conditions. Sharing administrative resources allows us to
provide more cost-effective service to residents of Victoria, surrounding municipalities, the Saanich
Peninsula and the Gulf Islands.
Heirloom Linens presented a cheque to Headway for $2,765 and Headway said they were overwhelmed!
May 2016 Charity
KidSport Victoria is a non-profit organization that is part of a national and provincial network of community
based volunteer groups whose goal is to ensure that kids in financial need have access to the positive
experience of sport and physical activity. We believe that sport and physical activity provides a life-long
opportunity for self-expression, goal setting, dedication, positive thinking and increased self-confidence

We Rage, We Weep Alzheimer Foundation is a Victoria based independent Canadian Registered Charity.
They support caregivers of those with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. In doing so, they fund,
administer and/or market programs and services that:

Victoria Hospice is a registered charity that since 1980 has provided end-of-life care focused on palliative
treatment. Their nurses, counselors, spiritual caregivers, physicians and trained volunteers provide comfort
for the patient and support for the family, rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness.
We were absolutely delighted to present Victoria Hospice with a cheque for $20,150 after our most
successful ever,Massive Yard Sale!
Established in 1993, Saanich Neighbourhood Place is a non-judgmental center that supports the well being
Community Kitchen program as the recipient of this months proceeds. We have selected their Community
Kitchen as the recipient of this months proceeds.

This is about the children whose lives are changed by an act of kindness: gifts under the Christmas tree and
food on the table, washing away the trappings of poverty, sadness, or loss, and inspiring them with memories
they will keep for a lifetime. Heirloom Linens attended the Miracle on Broad Street and gave a donation of

Since 1982, BC Children's Hospital Foundation has worked with children, families, caregivers and hundreds
of thousands of British Columbians to raise funds to support BC Children's Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre
for Children and the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. Cheque presented for $1,735.
January 2017 Charity
The CHES mission is to improve the quality of life of women and their communities in Kenya and Tanzania
by providing secondary education scholarships for bright girls with no means of paying secondary school
fees. Heirloom Linens was delighted to give CHES, a cheque for $1,685.
Help Fill a Dream provides hope, help and happiness for Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands' children
under the age of 19, with life-threatening conditions by fulfilling their Dreams, improving their Quality of Life
and assisting their families with care and financial support. Cheque presentation for $500.
