Headers Explanation
The measurement shown above each header style image indicates the finished width of the top of the curtain panel. Because pleated styles gather or fold the fabric, the top will measure narrower than the bottom. For example, a Pinch Pleat header is shown as 22" wide at the top, but the same panel will spread to approximately 50" wide at the bottom once hung, since the pleats release into fullness.
This is important to keep in mind when choosing a style for your window, as the amount of visible fabric and the fullness of the drape will vary depending on the header type. Grommets and rod pockets, for instance, keep a fuller width across the top (around 25"), while more structured pleats, like goblet or inverted pleats, compress the width at the header (around 22") but allow the panel to expand toward the bottom.
